Advanced Placement©  offering nine AP (Advanced Placement) courses makes the school stand out as a unique school which can provide numerous advantages for the students.
At Jerusalem American School, we take pride in offering a diverse range of Advanced Placement (AP) courses, standardized test preparation, and international equivalencies to foster a top-of-the-line, leading educational experience for our students. ​
AP courses allow advanced students to take university-level courses in order to earn college credits while in high school. Students also gain a competitive edge over others when applying for admission to colleges and universities. We have qualified and experienced instructors, certified with College Board, to teach nine AP courses as follows:
1. AP Calculus:
  • Rigorous curriculum focusing on calculus concepts, including differentiation, integration, and their real-world applications.
  • Emphasis on problem-solving skills and mathematical reasoning.
  • Dedicated teachers and resources to ensure students excel in the AP Calculus exam.

2. AP Pre-Calculus:

3. AP Computer Science A:

4. AP World History:
  •  Exploration of world history from prehistoric times to the present day.

5. AP Biology:
  • AP Biology is an advanced high school course that delves into the intricacies of cellular and molecular biology, genetics, ecology, and evolution.

6. AP English Literature:

7. AP Computer Science Principles:

8. AP Chemistry

  • Provides students with the skills to analyze complex chemical systems and is highly regarded for its college-level rigor.

9. AP Physics
  • Covers a wide range of physical phenomena, providing students with a deep understanding of the principles governing the behavior of the universe.
  • Through hands-on experiments and problem-solving, students develop their scientific reasoning and mathematical skills while studying mechanics, electricity, and magnetism.
AP Physics is an excellent choice for students interested in physics, engineering, astronomy, or any field that requires a strong foundation in the physical sciences.


Additionally, JAS prepares its students for the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), CLEP is a series of tests students can take to earn college credit for their undergraduate degree, rather than completing lengthier courses. CLEP tests cover an array of subjects, including history and the social sciences; composition and literature; science and mathematics; business; and world languages. They can often be used to work through many of the general education requirements four-year colleges and universities typically require.
